Dublin mostly!
Small bike drop here, braking v hard to avoid a smidsy, but could not keep upright at the end. Luckily, was stopped when gravity took over.

Busted clavicle and distal tibia, both right side. tibia now has neat anatomical plate, clavicle under conservative management (wrist sling). Need clavicle asap to be able to use crutches for foot. Thought it would get plated too but seemingly better to give it a chance first.

Helmet jacket gloves, jeans did job, not a cut or scratch, but boots (bmw airflow) did not protect shin just above ankle. My foot can only have hit a footpeg or cylinder. There is a design compromise to let the ankle flex and my next boots will be tougher there.

Good hospital care (op and post-op) here since last Sat, flying home on Monday to r&r for a couple of weeks and get the crutch scene working.

Moral - ATGATT, and check your boots!

Ouch! That looks painful ... !

Hope you're on the mend soon ...

Ooooh unlucky mate, that is one well busted shoulder, all the best with the recovery.

Hope you heal soon Bin. If you are looking for boots I suggest Daytona Road Star GTX boots. I know the chap that did the testing on them for the traffic cops and he really did his homework. With all the injuries I dealt with after bike accidents with the Gardai the boots really protected the lower legs. I have two pairs, one here and one pair in Spain.

I hope it's not too painful Lawrence, get well soon.

Enjoy your time home in Ireland.

I was going to get myself a new pair of Sidi in the new year, after hearing that, I'll probably push the boat out and go for Daytona.
Where would you recommend to purchase??

How old are you?

My clavicle break (last Oct) was far simpler than yours -

I had eight weeks in a sling trying to get healing by primary intention - no chance. Had surgery in July this year (and another 6 weeks in a sling)

I'd get to a decent shoulder specialist asap and ask about getting a plate put in that.

If you know what size you need fc moto or biker land. Both in Germany but you'll save a tidy sum over buying here at inflated prices. Also choose the UPS option for delivery.... I did :beerjug:

I have Daytona at home and will be checking how much protection they give. I'd guess that enough protection needs an external guard plate.

Broke mine (Rt Clavicle) at the end of November, 10mph drop on my T-Max, the bones were originally crossed but by the time I got to fracture clinic they'd relaxed into roughly the right place, so no operation. I'll find out in January if that was the right decision.

An extreme way to get a few days at home over the new year Lawrence. All the best for a speedy recovery.

Flip Sake Lawrence Nasty but you're still with us So thats a Bonus !

No matter what, you can try your best and get the right gear but there has to be a time when comfort v titanium armour plating becomes a balance
