Top tip ...

... ask for a 'blue' sling, much more supportive than a wrist sling, and comes with a waist strap to fully immobilise your arm which was particularly beneficial when trying to sleep.

Sent using a Jedi mind trick!

Where exactly is that? Co-ordinates of the trail entrance? Looks nice.

I had one of those but it was a pain in the arse. Went to VHI clinic in Dundrum, all well and happy enough with the sling. Key thing is to get onto crutches asap but it will be another 2 weeks probably.
Will be getting some more lowdown on that next week.

Hi Brendan, if I emailed you the actual photo, could you get what you need from the photos location details??

If you head out the Laragh to Rathdrum road (Co.Wicklow) about 2 kms, there is a right hand turn that takes you to Glenmalure (it's a lovely tight and twisty road) you will eventually come to a tight, steeply downhill crossroads at the Glenmalure Lodge, turn right up what is a Cul de sac and follow it 'til its end. There will be a river crossing (made to be crossed, there is a slab) and you will find many Kilometres of what are essentially walking trails. It is a beautiful part of Wicklow and I spend many a Sunday morning there, hail, rain or shine.

Hi,

4 weeks later, and good progress. Leg healed well, and collarbone too. Started physio last week, efforts to relax knotted muscles etc. Needles involved.
Still in wheelchair 95%, will start to use frame this week.
Very big inconvenience from a small fall...but could be worse of course.
Got loan of electric scooter from disabled neighbour, and was lent a copy of Harry Lindsay's book, so out of the pain, some smiles....
Subscribed to TheAirhead e-zine for fun, some interesting stuff..

Take care of the knotted muscles - i'm in for a rhyzotomy in a few weeks that started off as "knotted muscles" .
Hope the healing keeps going well for you.
All the best mate.

Hi,

Thanks for good wishes. Latest is I am back in Riyadh since last night, in wheelchair but expecting to graduate to crutches today (6 weeks). Lucky no complications, just needs lots of patience.....
