I think, I just bought an HP2 without telling the wife this means I'll be in A+E later getting a kitchen knife taken out of chest or odds 'n' ends being stitched back on... Whats worse I've just signed up for a rally on my HP2 I'll be the only European there, I can't speak either of the language they use and I've yet to figure out how to get the bike there and back.

Do you think I've done the right thing?

watch the video I made to explain what it is

well that's alright then thought I'd be in a bit of stuck...

The rally looks awesome loiq! :thumb2

Seeing as Minis and Prius' are competing, do you need to be an expert to have a go? I can't imagine the terrain is the problem if those vehicles can make it!

Not sure I should be asking these questions... I might find myself with the same problem as you!

Well see, I don't know it's possible some of the bikes go fast enough to get killed, but I don't think it's as hard as they make it out certainly not a Dakar. (famous last words) Trouble is that my japanese is good enough to get into loads trouble but not good enough to get out of the jam when it counts.

I can ask for soup, noodles and the time, I can also ask what colour your underwear is (not really applicable but a good question) my name and that's about it... so could (should) be a real laugh... and they cashed my money transfer (f**k)

I think getting there is the most complex bit... once your there it's only about 4000km that's not that far?

Looks amazing fun!

Guess you're going to need to sort out a long range fuel tank for the HP2 though?

Well yeah it's all sort of coming together, bought one of the ex-wales bikes which has seen some heavy/ hard miles and is held together with blue-tac. Touratech said big tank will be out in April. But currently looking into getting the bike there I can always strap a jerry can on the back if need be...

nice one dude.

recon the buying of the hp2 is survivable but 10 days in mongolia haha:bounce1 me thinks yer Fooked.....dude i'm impressed i meen my other half is the most forgiving woman i know (ask anyone who knows her) and your talking to someone who tolk her three days before picking up the brandfire new GSA12 "oh by the way babes i've bought a BMW" not a flinch. the other week van pull up outside she says "what you bought now" i reply oh just bought an Aprilia RXV she goes "that looks nice, at least its got a seat" sold a monty trialer to buy this one. BUT you dude!! i don't even thing my mussis would let me get away with that one.
its been nice knowing you, and you may now start planning your world tour. :aidan :D :D :D :D :thumb

well I must say it's turned abit frosty here, so was thinking of going to the pub in abit and coming back bladdered with a bunch of flowers from the 7-11. That should smooth things over.....

fingers gone all wonky.

sorry about the spelling above. shouldn't drink single malt and type. I'm only mildly dyslexic.

All I can say is on ya :clap Peter Pan swapped his wife for a Garmin 2610, I thought that was pretty staunch. It took me the best part of 6 months to convince my financial controller that an HP2 in the garage would be a good thing. You my friend rock :bow :bow :bow

How I got my HP well my wife decided she would take a compnay car, so I asked her to confirm she did not require her car she said no:thumb . So I traded it on the HP:beer: you should have seen her face:eek: when I told her the news.

But the last laugh was on me as she spent 30k on new furniture for the house over Xmas:rolleyes:

Classic negotiating tactic there :) I'm now just waiting for the "Well, you got your HP2 thingy so now I get the <insert desirable (and expensive) item> I've been lookign at, okay?".

Just to clarify I have been brewing this up for 2+ years, original plan included going to Mongolia on my 1150 doing the rally and back. However I've had to cut it down I can't run away for that long being a responsible adult (ffffffheeeehhheheheh)

I'm Paying for all the stuff around the event will then either sell the bike or raffle it off and everything goes to a good cause, which i've not yet found was thinking about a charity for Mental Health seems appropriate. As wife just called me a mental case Oh well it only took her 15 years to figure that out!

Well done mate and good luck with your adventure. Luckilly my missus is pretty calm about bikes, general rule is if I buy one then another one should be sold :thumb

HP2 Big Tank - Touratech

Well yeah it's all sort of coming together, bought one of the ex-wales bikes which has seen some heavy/ hard miles and is held together with blue-tac. Touratech said big tank will be out in April. But currently looking into getting the bike there I can always strap a jerry can on the back if need be...

Having just received an email from Touratech to say the big tank is still in development stage and they have no idea when it will be ready, I am interested to know who said it would be ready in April!!!

some bloke from touratech....who called me after I sent 'em an email...(sh*t not now!)
