Hi
Can anyone recommend an open face with a decent peak.
I have a Shoei with a sun visor but it’s not good enough for this time of year. I also have a Nolan which has a peak and sun visor but you have to have the main visor down to lower the peak sufficiently and I like to ride with the visor up as much as possible…….and it’s not that comfortable.
I would like a full visor as well.
I’m not interested in a full face, thanks.
Thanks for any suggestions

No peak, but a Shoei j Cruise is really good. I've been using one for a number of years now, even over winter as the deep visor stops the rain stinging ones visage..

Thanks, yes the j cruise is my main helmet but no peak - it’s the low sun this time of year.

Im a big fan of these Arai helmets . Have had a few over the years . Sometimes cheaper from Japan

Ah, I had a Ram years ago, thought they’d stopped selling them in Europe sometime back.
I’m not sure that tinted peak will be up to the job but I may well get one of these when I replace my j cruise so thanks.

Be careful buying from Japan as they have different shell shapes.
I tried on a Shoei J.O 2 in Yokohama last month and the L was far too tight around the forehead. But I can wear any Shoei size L from Europe and it’s always a near perfect fit .
I know Shoei do an Asian shell shape and an EU one . Think N America also have their own.
Arai are no doubt similar .

Have a look at the acerbis open face.
Thanks, I’ll try and find somewhere I can try one on.
The problem is, seems to me, that the peaks are a styling exercise and too short to actually block out the sun. Might end up with a trial type helmet.

Nothing that a strip of black tape across the top of the visor won't cure. Or is too old school 😃
I have thought of that and not adverse to going down that route; it’s just that a peak is there to block out the sun - my wife’s car has got an excellent sun visor, not too much to ask is it?
Looking at old videos of Steve McQueen and his mates, they’ve all got peaks - decent peaks appear to be more old school than black tape 😂

ThecAcerbiscis axtrialsxtype butches a built-in sun visor as well.

Black tape blocks out the sun too😃 The j Cruise has a built in tinted visor as well.....

I find the Nolan N-40 to be an excellent helmet.

Thanks - got one, it’s okay but see my first post.
Wore it on Saturday and it was better for the sun than my Shoie on Sunday - I just want something better.
First world problem 😏

Ye have to be prepared to accept that - - when you take the tape off the visor is permanently “ Marked “ ok if you keep that visor , for the year ends 👍
