Wife hates wearing a lid but settled on an open faced one with a full face visor. This was 13 yrs ago and she has refused resolutely to swap it. It sits in a cloth bag for 11.5 mths and gets an airing for a fortnight a year so I have no massive issues with age. What else is out there for her as a replacement? Looking at Schubeth J series...but what else? Ta

If you don't want to chip in many £00's towards the sponsorship fund look at the HJC IS Multi. You can use it as an open face, with or without visor, with or without peak, with or without chin guard which makes it effectively a full face if wanted.

I use one with the peak and visor attached, especially for local work, as I can simply walk into my bank and use the deposit box without removing my lid. Not the most robust chin guard etc but I don't use that bit anyway.

On offer at the moment through the link. ACU, EC and German TUV approved. Weighs 1500grms with all the bits on.

Shark evo 3..
Use as full face or totally open legally, can convert while riding with free hand.
Also has an integral sun visor.
Great field of view..
Bought 3 of these a year ago for a long trip & they've all performed brilliantly, been used harshly, suffered abuse, mines looking dog eared but still functions.
Recommend taking her for a try on..
Bmf coming up shortly, there was discounted ones available last year..
Enjoy..

Caberg Hyper X might do the trick. Open face lid with full face visor, but also can be converted to a full face lid.

On my second now, like them a lot :)

I bought two Shark Evoline 2's new for £300 last summer for us and they are great. I don't know what difference the version 3 would give but would recommend them.

I have recently brought a Nolan N43Air and am loving it. It has a removable chin guard, huge visor that's perfectly comfortable to ride with open. Has great venting, flip down visor and I have the N-COM fitted which is great for longer journeys.

Arai SZ ram2 for me, got it in a sale for £90 after the ram3 came out. Had it for nearly 4 years now and just about to buy a new visor for it.

I have always worn an open face but the thing that really hit me with the Aria is the field and clarety of vision.

Thanks for the advice. Will hit the shops when I get back from the Picos next week.

Have to agree. Top helmet, totally legal open face. Full face very comfortable. Integrated sun visor is a nice touch too.
