Having the new bike since October last year, and having done about 3.000 km, I have still a few issues with the bike:

The sound is very disappointing. I have an after-market Akra, looks great, sounds meh. Really miss the sound of my previous 1200 with an AC Schnitzer can. Will probably install a healtech 'flap control' device, but not expecting too much from it. Childish perhaps, but it doesn't help the 'bonding process '.

The smartphone cradle hardware works fine, but the official app (on my Android at least) is buggy. Quite often it refuses to switch to 'cradle mode', even though it is connected, making the app then basically useless. Other apps like Google Maps work though, but obviously you can't control these via the wonder wheel.

The top case sometimes locks automatically during the ride, forcing you to turn off and on the bike again upon arrival in order to get your stuff. Apparently I should also be able to unlock the case with the key fob, but that doesn't work (then?) either. Annoying.

By now I've fixed some other niggles like the rear lights and the side stand being on the short side, but would be very happy if I could resolve the other ones.

Honestly I would want the top case locking while you ride. If you live in a big city it's super easy for someone to grab your stuff otherwise.

Bmw connected ride app has been hit and miss with me. It has disconnected from the cradle sometimes. Restart normally helps. Overall it's much better than the old Garmin system though.

Sounds of the bike is rubbish. Only thing I don't like about it. Not just the exhaust but also the shiftcam. Don't like riding it without earplugs for that reason, even in town.

The app is very limited anyway. I tried but very unimpressed.
Better off with tomtom go or even just gmaps. The app tends to take over the display on the dash also, at the wrong times imo. Removed from phone..

It is what it is, not really surprising actually. Google Maps works fine, but not being able to zoom or center is not ideal but acceptable for daily use. And probably use something like Kalimoto for the more adventurous rides

I guess the area i'm riding in is safer than yours. And that while I'm typically crossing the biggest harbour of Europe with all these funny imports. 😂

Very true. I'm a bit surprised by how that bothers me though, makes bonding with the bike really harder for me.
