Am looking at maybe saving up and getting my bike fitted with a K-Tech suspension kit, Tenere 700

there are 2 dealers here

NDM in Dublin
PLR Pro Link Racing up north

Anyone have positive or negative experience or recommendation on these shops?

Hi John, maybe this might be of interest. Theres a guy here who works on bikes from a smsll unit just outside derry. His main business is suspension as he also works for a BSB team on suspension set up etc.

Have used NDM and so have my mates ,excellent service and attention to detail

I used PLR a good few years ago John. It is run by Clarence Bell near Greyabbey in north Co Down and he was very good to work with.

He does a lot of work for the motocross and rallying lads and you could eat your dinner from any of the work benches within.

I had the rear Showa shock from my 1150 overhauled by him even though many at the time said it couldn't be done. And all at a very reasonable price.

With that in mind I'd be happy to recommend him.

Aidan.

I've used Clarence Bell at PLR for over 20 years no issues. Is widely used by the Motocross and road racing fraternity.

Cheers lads,

fact the PLR has good experience with Mx is what id be after

ill try calling him again tomorrow

sound sliek i cant go wrong with either

ill ring both see who has most experience with trail/adventure bikes

Cheers lads, great hear positive feedback.

I will ring both and feel them out. Ideally someone who knows the tenere and also dual sport riding setups.

They are both K-Tech dealers and the K-Tech setup is meant to be an excellent setup for not much money (€600 for parts plus labour tp rebuild them)

Isn’t there a guy in cork who does hyoerpro?

Vmtek he is the wilbers dealer. He serviced mine in the past however was a bit of an ordeal as he was never there to receive them from courier and ended "lost" for a while, somehow this was somehow my fault.

Give the lads at Adventure Motorcycles Ireland a buzz (Overlanders) down in Gorey.
Not sure about KTech but they are Touratech dealers and know the T7 inside out.

S20 5G sent this......

reason was looking for a k-tech or suspension specialist is the K-Tech is meant to be customised by a suspension guru as they have huge choice shims/spacers and valving for rear. so when get kit need someone who knows how fine tune them

AMI are great outfit but from what i see the Touratech system is a drop in system not much tuning/internal mods required

I will however put them on my list of people to call as they may have a contact who can do the work locally

AMI did the touratech conversion on my T7 and as younger says they know them inside out and may also be able to source second hand suspension from bikes that get traded in.

Full marks to Wilbers, upgraded the rear shock on my Triumph Explorer a short few years ago, did a terrific job.

I do like the wilbers shocks, have had a few done for me and always impressed by them

I have use Paul in VMTEK three times - Wilbers on 1150GS, Hyperpro Springs on F800GS and then Andreani Cartridges on the 800.
Very happy with the work he did for me

Sent a rear 1150 Ohlins to Paul in Vmtek some years back for a shaft replacement, after some 150 miles it pissed oil. Never again. He didn't replace certain parts

I think there are many reputable options.

As mentioned above.

I took my bike to Maxton for new shocks to suit me as a solo rider.

Custom built to my weight and riding style.

I’d go for the most convenient option, who can probably improve your ride immensely.
