Optimate part II

Plugged the Optimate into the auxiliary socket & just the green light on the Optimate is lit, no charge light, no dead light, no desulphate light, nothing. I had a look in the socket first & there was a bit of copper fur in there so gave it a good WD_40 ing before I plugged the charger in. Gave it a wiggle or two once I'd plugged it in but.....nowt. Am I missing something ? Any help much appreciated.

2002 1150 GS, don't know about fuses, I haven't checked. I keep the bike at my mates garage so I can't look 'cos I'm back at home now.Thanks for the prompt reply, I suppose that's what this forum's all about.

I would start with the fuse.

then I would look at the charger itself.. a green light (that doesn't change) means the charger isn't doing anything.. so test that if you can.. if possible try it on another battery... on connecting and switching on the green light should go out and the amber light come on.. then later once it thinks its charged the amber light should flash.. while the charger is testing the battery.

make sure the charger is actually working before you investigate further..

How did you wire the plug up? Positive to centre ?

Optimate

makree sure the wires havent com out of the plug, favorite to happen when pulling plug out of bike. I fixed a cable tie to plug and pull this to remove plug.
