Can I plug an Optimate into the accessories plug under the seat? Or must I connect straight to the battery? Still haven't got to grips with canbus:confused:

Thanks in advance....

Need to connect straight to the battery. Best bet, is to wire in a permanent waterproof lead with the end poking out from under the seat.

Canbus won't allow it. you need to direct connect to the battery.

optimate under seat

Also once you have it wired in you can also get optimate connectors and use the lead as a direct power source for any toys as well as your aux socket:clap:blagblah:thumb2

Remembering to fit a correctly rated in line fuse (5A, if it was me) to prevent all kinds of potential 'issues'

Had a optimate lead "overheat" slightly when the connectors at the plug end shorted together  luckily I had a pair of snips handy to cut one of the leads when it started to smoke.

I've always used a fuse in the leads since :blast

Where can male Optimate conectors be purchased?

Wrong :| Canbus does allow it if you have a recent software version.

Mine is currently plugged in to the socket and cycles without any issues.

Always amazes me how many different right answers you get to questions on this forum!

I will plug in and try - I guess that will also tell me how up-to-date my software version is!
Thanks for the replies.
