What does the forum think of using optimax unleaded instead of normal unleaded.I know its 6pence more a litre my mate who has a vfr says it seems to give more power. Has anyone used optimax?

Load of Money Making Twaddle for the Oil Companies  Spend your 27 pence per gallon on useful accessories.

Why are you posting this in the GPS section?????

optimax

Can't speak for anyone else but both myself & my lad both put optimax in, This stopped the pinking that we'd both noticed on motorway ,pillion+fully loaded at 80mph ish when accelarating hard.Shaun at Rainbow told me to try it, I now use 2 tanks of unleaded to 1 of optimax or super if touring heavily loaded. result no more pinking.
Ps Pinking was worryingly noticable if wearing open face helmet
Just use if when necessary

I get another 4-5 mpg when using Super Unleaded in the UK, which increases the range and makes it financially viable - can't see any downside to it...

Tried it in my 1100, and the family car no noticable difference.
