Option 719 mirrors

I bought an R1250 GSA last September which had had the options catalogue thrown at it. Included were the Option 719 billet mirrors which look great. But. At speeds over 60mph they vibrate to the point that they are unusable. less than ideal for motorway lane changes. Does anyone with these mirrors on their GS(A) experience the same problem? Is there a fix? I'd appreciate any advice.

Im not saying its your case, but Ive had the glass ever so slightly loose in a mirror on my GS and it would vibrate slightly at certain revs giving a much reduced view, annoying and obviously dangerous if you cant trust your view.
When mine would vibrate any contact with the lens, with a gloved finger or hand would stop the vibration. I put a drop of clear glue at 3 locations around the outside of the lens to stick it with the plastic surround and this did the trick. It has lasted to this day .

I had them on my last GS and you are right. Up to 60 fine above that awful. My new one has the ‘original’ mirrors, so much better.

Just the left hand one on mine was vibrating. Tightened everything up, as it wasn't done very well from factory and it was much better. No worse than the regular mirrors

I've got the billet mirrors on my 1250GS. They are definitely useless above 60ish mph, and much worse than the stock mirrors were on my previous 1200GS. Although it could just be that the 1250 is slightly more vibey anyway ?

Personally I don't really like the look of them, and the shape makes them less effective at being able to see what's behind you than the stock mirrors so I keep thinking I should flog them and get a standard pair.

Same here, no issues. Been using them since 2020, transferred them to the new bike.

Thanks everyone. I'll have a play with them. All of my 3 previous GS(A)s had no problems with the stock mirrors. We'll see.

Have them here, no issues whatsoever. One of the nicest available upgrades over standard imho.

I have them on my GSA .. when I first fitted them I had some mirror vibes in the right hand one, only. I hadn't got the arms set at quite the right angle (parallel to grips) .. so I reset them, tightened and they were much better .. might be worth resetting them from scratch. From memory there were a couple more washers than I expected but I followed diagram and all seems good.

I had the bike in for its first service at the dealer today and mentioned the mirrors. When I collected the bike I was told that as I had fitted bar risers (actually they fitted them when I bought it having taken them off my old bike and transferring them) I had altered the resonance frequency of the bars which was causing the vibration. That sounds like utter B@!!@(&$ to me. I don't know what the rest of you think. I'm going to try taking them off and re-fitting them myself. Failing that I might just try a set of stock mirrors.

Got BMW risers on mine....as my previous post, re-tightened the one mirror and all good

Digging back in to my civil engineering memory .. resonant frequencies in structures are determined by material composition, surroundings, points if attachment/interfaces and dimensions .. recognise that it is a small structure, with one anchor point and the bar riser is a small change but from a physics point of view it's possible but the change might be so small that as you say, it is bllx.
