I could get off my arse and go look myself.....

.... my 1150 drips orange fluid from a breather pipe when the engine's hot. Only seems to do it when I've given it a thrashing for 50 miles or so. Park it up and in the morning theres a few drops of this oily orange stuff thats coming from a breather tube. Its not leaking badly as it isn't up the side of the bike. Any ideas? Sensible ones, keep the random ones to yourselves ta.:)

'a breather pipe'?
More info needed methinks....were is said pipe, is it a rubber fuel type pipe hanging down in the area behind the front end of the swing arm or is it somewhere else?
any chance of a pic of the pipe?

the only breather pipes you should have are the fuel ones :nenau

I had rust big time in the drain pipe in the filler cap... had to take the whole assembly to bits and clean it out... it was completely blocked and needed a bit of wire to poke it clear .... If it turns out to be rust from there spray wd40 down it regularly to keep it clear.. also try squirting some down to see if it comes out the same pipe you're talking about...

+1
I had exactly the same - had to rod it out with strimmer line.
I now give it a blast of WD every now and again.

(also stops you filling your tank with water every time you fuel up :augie )

Right I'll investigated. Its coming from what looks like a reservoir on the ABS unit. Yes it is a breather tube and it seems to vent the resvervoir. Why it should be letting out brake fluid I have no idea. I've been trying to see if I can get the rocker covers down on corners, I can. Is this why the brake fluid seems to be leaking or is there some other more sinister reason?

Ignore the wiring mess. I've been undoing the handy work of some idiot who quiet plainly had pig's tits for fingers and who fitted an alarm (acreditted installer it seems too). The mess made of the Beemer's loom took me two hours to rectify, dodgy soldering, insulation tape everywhere (holds water) and half of the wires had been left untied back and rubbing against the steel frame without a protective sleeve over.

In the wheel circuits its clear, the stuff coming from the breather is orange (white rag test)
