The bike is fantastic.Best sportsbike I've ever owned by far.No problems at all.

Why should there be ? It's not a BMW !! To be honest,Yonkyo,I wouldn't expect you to report back that you loved it.

Glad to hear that you are happy with your bike.

Now, now then. I really wanted to like the RC8. But i obviously rode the runt of the litter (as supplied by Fowlers of Bristol). It's shame they haven’t sorted this demo bike out, because two of my KTM950SM & 990SM riding mates have cancelled there orders for the RC8.

One criticism though. I found the instrument readout to be far to busy and cluttered. Actually showing far too much information IMHO. But there are two essential things missing, like Gear Position and Fuel warning…..i actually ran out fuel and had to call for assistance. I really didn’t have a good time with that bike…shame.

There’s gonna be a comparison test in MCN next week. With the RC8 against the HP2S. I’m sure the orange one will thrash the beemer.

BTW there is a very good road test on the HP2S in the latest PB Mag.

Wish I was going to Le Mans…lucky barsteward.

Perhaps you need to go to Specsavers !!!

I cannot see how the hell you could run out of fuel,as the mode shows a great big feckin petrol pump and flashes LOW FUEL at you :

It then tells you exactly how far you can go before you run dry.

Apparently I had the display set on the wrong setting, which doesn’t show fuel information….Silly me.

Bring back the good old reserve switch, like they used to have on bikes in the olden days I say

You must have been on Race Mode as opposed to Road Mode.

They are 2 totally different settings,with Race Mode really only of use on the track when it allows you to use the lap timer facility amongst other things.

I just use Road and it just shows normal stuff like trips,OAT etc etc.

You're right.It did !

Or so I'm told.

I don't normally buy MCN and we don't get it till Thursday in any case,but was just chatting to mate in UK who buys MCN every week-god knows why !!


He said RC8 v HP2S v RSVR solely on track with 15 different riders.

HP2S came last by a long way,being an average of 1.5 secs slower per lap than the others.

RC8 marginally quicker on average lap than RSVR but the latter just given first place as some riders complained about the RC8 gearbox.

Have you heard one with the Akrapovic minus the baffles ...fack me its awesome!! Mate is trading his 950SM in for one and the dealer had one inwith the system fitted so he fired it up and the noise is just unbelievable. Makes any duc sound weak !

No I've not.

The price of titanium is crazy and I don't think I can justify spending such silly money on a system.

I can get it for substantially less than the price above,as no VAT and dealer is a mate but I can't see the point.

It makes little more power,a fact KTM have stated,and the weight is so low that I can't see the handling will improve that much.

Plus the local plod are trying to clamp down on noisey bikes.

Bet is sounds fecking awesome though
