Sold Orange Sub 5 MTB Full Suspension - Frame only

I bought this new in 2001 if I remember correctly. A few days after I bought it, foot and mouth arrived, and the country trails were closed! It was used as my race bike (I trained on a hardtail), I was half decent at cross country endurance (10 under the Ben, Relentless 24 etc), Anyway I have already borrowed a couple of components off the bike (not raced since 2016 and unlikely to enter another anytime soon), and decided to sell the frame.
I have the shock that's on the bike, and also a spare one. I'll leave the BB in (the original sq taper!). It's for 26" wheels
I'll strip the bike in the next couple of days and put a new Ad up then....

It's Medium. So about 5'8" to 6'1" I think. I'm 6'1" and had the seat post pretty high

OK! Today I decided I needed the space, so I have stripped the frame...

Back in the day I used to race a bit - Cross Country races, usually Endurance (like 10 hours, 12 hours, or even 24-hour endurance racing!). Here's me back in the day (on this bike!):


The SUB5 was one of THE bikes for Cross Country back in the day - made in Britain, and known for bombproof construction.

I always trained on a Hardtail, so this bike had relatively little use considering its age. I've not raced since 2017, and I can't remember riding this bike since then!

No dings or dents or bends. A few scuffs - mainly at the swinging arm where my heels touched it. One scratch on the crossbar. Most of the wear points had "helicopter tape" to protect against rubbing.



I left the cables in the frame so it's easier for the buyer to thread new brake and gear cables...

Comes with a spare shock and dropout


I've left the BB and Head bearings in - they are both in excellent condition, nice and smooth, no notchiness.

Also a decent Shimano XT Front Mech included (for a triple groupset).

If anyone wants extra parts to build this up, and is able to come and collect it, I have a few other bits (handlebars for instance) I can throw into the deal (along with a cup of tea)
