Ordered a Triple Black GSA

Ordered a GSA Triple black today. But not taking it until 1st March. Makes me wonder if it will be built and sit somewhere under a blanket ? Especially, That I was only the second to buy one. Got, what I thought was a great deal. As being a customer since 1999 (1150)
I do hope I won't regret this purchase, Every other model has been great. I've never bought a launch model before, But I'm certain that any issues will be ironed out inside the three year warranty. Ticked every box, so loads of tech to go Kaput.
Roll on March !

How's the bike been ?
Brilliant, only done about 2700 miles so far but loving it. No regrets trading my 2021 R1250GS for it. No issues whatsoever and the adaptive ride height just makes it so easy for me at 5’ 8”. I was without a bike because I got a really good deal giving it in at the end of October 23, it was difficult when there were some nice days over the winter.

Ill struggle getting through winter without the GSA In the garage. Just hope the next few months fly by !
I guess ill need a new charger for the lightweight lithium battery.
 
I must try a GS with the ASA option I'm curious as to what it's like to ride.
Been riding one today whilst mine was having its service. ASA took no getting used to at all, it's strange having to start with the brake lever pulled. but apart from that no issues, great.

The extra engine noise and strange whirring took some getting used to thought, sounds like the guy who built it dropped a set of torx keys in there somewhere.

Didn't notice the ASA 1300gs being any more rattly or whirring than my existing 1300gs. Think they do sound more like you say than the 1250gs though.
ASA I thought was a big improvement, even if you didn't want to use the fully auto mode. I left it in manual apart from in traffic and in town and just rode it like I do my 1300 & it was effortless and slicker changing gear.

Bit different if you were on loose gravel maybe, or came across a sudden patch of sand on the road . If you couldn't avoid it I'd quickly pull the clutch in now so there was no engine breaking. Suppose the bike traction etc would handle things??.
Other benefit I thought of afterwards is they may be harder to steal. The bike puts itself in park when you stop and switch off, think this is putting it into first gear??. But you can't push the bike and only wat to take it out of park is to hold the brake and turn the ignition on.
You can't just put it in neutral if the ignition isn't on by using the gear lever because it has no mechanical connection to the gearbox, all electronic.
Usual way for scrotes to nick them is to break the steering lock and wheel them away or into a van. But they wouldn't be able to take the paring brake off without the key in range. Sure they'll find a way around it but might deter some thefts.

Yeah, of course, I'm comparing to a 1250, this is the first time I've ridden a 1300GS.

I totally agree with what you say regarding the security. There's been a lot of bikes nicked around Leeds area that have been pushed off by a scrote on another bike, pushing by putting one foot on the nicked bike to get away quicker down cycle tracks etc.
For those that use Skelton Lake services on the M1, either take a lot of care if you park up there, or buy yourself a bike with ASA :DD (y)

Yep, that's the one. I didn't thrash it.
They don't need full throttle to get the best out of them anyway. I did find in auto it held onto 4th & fifth gears longer than I would have done but that all depends on the type of roads you are on the setting (road, rain dynamics etc ) but easy to get used to and just touched the gear lever if you wanted to change earlier & it still went back to auto mode after a short time.

Sure there will be other settings to find tune things to personal preferences. Or the bike learns from your riding habits. GSAP always had the "learning " but if it had been reset . Never understood why though :-) .
