Ordered a Triple Black GSA

Yeah, it was good, but it was wet so couldn't give it some to see the real difference. I only tried it in Dynamic, as that's what I leave my GSA in. The gear change was really good. I don't know what it is though, I was glad to get back on my GSA, it's probably cos it's mine :ROFLMAO:. I'll be having a go on the new GSA when I can. It looks way better in the flesh than what it does in the pictures. It's definitely grown on me since I first saw it.

Congrats! Def the best colour combo at the moment in my opinion. Not sure about the auto box (whiffs of trouble - aka BMW customer product testing & development - from a mile if anything), plus I have had Honda DCT experience which is not everyone's cuppa, but hey...

I am sure they will be a cracking bike to ride, so we ll wait for reviews early next year!

I was initially (1999 - 2024) concerned enough to never purchase a launch model vehicle. Especially as i buy them outright, and tend to keep a few years. But, the standard GS is running ASA and I've not heard any bad vibs (shush.......) by the time i get mine, 1st March, all will be good, including the insurance carbunkle.
It was a toss-up between the Trophy and TB. But went in the end for the TB. First thing ill be doing, is removing the two ali baking trays on each side, and powder coating them black.

Don't think you have anything to worry about but your logic is a bit flawed on the 1300gs ASA being proven. There aren't any\many ASA models on the road yet and they won't get high mileages in the UK before next March. Mine is due end of this month, might get a couple of thousand miles on it before next March. I'm thinking BMW will have been testing it's reliability on secret testing on the road for a year or so but who knows?.
3 year warranty and BMW's past reaction to any problems\issues is my safeguard.
Insurance is another thing , don't get me started on that one:-) .

Which seat did you go for? Hopefully it'll be better than the standard one that was on a GS Trophy I recently tried which was pretty bad.
2023-24 model year Trophy 1300gs comes standard with the high seat, I specced it with the medium height one (called standard height on the configurator), with hindsight I think the high one would have been better. All depends how long your legs are I think. Standard is ok but just tightens the knee angle a bit more and slopes down more at the front rather than being flatter.
Gone for high one on new order so I hope its ok.

I reckon I must be the only one here on this forum that has now read the full R1300GSA riders manual :ROFLMAO:
Its not the man thing to do.......

Comfort rider & passenger.
But on long runs, I'll fit my trusty old Alaskan Buttpad i originally bought for my 1150 !

Its far from proven, but every mile that is completed by you and others, is all good for me 😝

Yeah it wasn't so much the height but the one I tried felt like a sharp edged plank to my tender derriere and was pretty uncomfortable after just 20-30 miles.

Be very interested to see how the comfort seats work out.
The seats I've had on previous 1250gs and the R1300gs have all been "comfort" seats. Think they went away from them being a separate option 2 or 3 years ago & then made them all called "comfort" seats. Think the previous comfort seat were extra cost and different looking finish.
I find they are still uncomfortable after an HR or so riding but everyone is different. Wunderlich was the best I found on the previous 1250gs but they aren't doing the heated one for the 1300 yet. Expected end of year I think.

Ordered a GSA Triple black today. But not taking it until 1st March. Makes me wonder if it will be built and sit somewhere under a blanket ? Especially, That I was only the second to buy one. Got, what I thought was a great deal. As being a customer since 1999 (1150)
I do hope I won't regret this purchase, Every other model has been great. I've never bought a launch model before, But I'm certain that any issues will be ironed out inside the three year warranty. Ticked every box, so loads of tech to go Kaput.
Roll on March !
That's not exactly inspiring that expect to have problems and get them resolved within the warranty period.
Great choice of colour though.

Agree, But with Literally every bike i've bought in the past, Including my Triumph Explorer XT, have had recalls of some sort. Isn't it normal? Teething issues ? The biggest surprise to me, was the R1200/1250 GS having the drain valve fitted, right at the end of their production line. And my SA80A2 had over 100 modifications over the A1 :ROFLMAO:

Having seen one in the flesh, I think those Ali trays are:
- darker than ali in the TB model
- look much nicer than in the pics anyway

What I would add to the bike is the cast off-road wheels that look AMAZING.

The Triple Black GSA side panels are Ali. Bare I think. To me, Look out of place

I might be confusing it with the green one... i m pretty sure one of the versions has the darkened...
Anyway, by the stage you get yours, WunderNippys would have come up with a coffee maker over there...

The only add on Ill really want/need, is a new tool box. My old toratwat one was great, Didn't know it was there, but held all those things I hoped never to need. Puncture repair kit, Tool kit. ETc. The new pannier carriers will need something, If possible.

Isn’t black just a shade rather than a colour ?
