Ordered one, couldn't help myself......

Gravel drive - no wonder you have a GS.

Enjoy the bike, run her in carefully!

(my 650 has gone today :blast )

Nice one Katy, you just beat me to a new 700, I picked mine up this afternoon and like you I love it.
Now I like the screen and it works for me at 5' 8" but then I like naked bikes so I'm probably more used to sitting in the wind than you are. The seat however was changed for my BMW comfort seat as soon as I got home and the difference is amazing. Handguards have been ordered from Nippy and I've gone for the Acerbis this time as I don't need the impact protection just something to keep the wind off my hands.

Bike looks lush.:thumb2
I see what you mean about the screen being small. In this weather you need some more protection.
Enjoy it & keep us updated.

Hi Katy

How's the 700 going? Did you figure out a new screen for her yet? I saw a rather nice Givi on a 650 recently.

Sadly, as posted, I have parted with my 650 and have an Adventure arriving on Friday but I know I'll miss the 650 and everything about the 700 is even better!

So enjoy and ride safe.

Phil

Congrats, I've also just ordered an Ostra grey F700 and right now it's (hopefully) on the high sea's somewhere between Germany and Australia.
I originally wanted the Red one but eyeballed the grey and thought it looked much better in the flesh than on the net. I'm sure the red is really nice too but they did not have any in Sydney so I didn't want to just order it and then find out what shade of Red it was when it arrived.
The dealers in Sydney reckon stocks of any colour have all dried up till Feb next year and they are proving very popular. Could be sales talk but then I did ring quite a few dealers and they all seemed to say the same thing.

Just spent the day tarting up the DR650 and getting it ready for bikesales, looks better than it ever did, should have done it earlier :)
Cheers
Mark

Hello and welcome Mark :beerjug:

It's a great bike, I allways thought the tweaks they made to the F7 above the 650 would improve the sales.

I hate waiting, tick tock, tick tock, but worth it in the end :D Enjoy :thumb

Hi Mark, a very good colour choice I would say:clap, the red is a nice shade - not scarlety, quite cherry - but it's nowhere near as nice as the grey. They certainly seem to be in short supply here too, the guys at Adventure Spec. haven't even seen one yet so have been unable to make a start on additions like crash bars. They're up north and I'm in Devon otherwise I'd take mine over to them as I'm awaiting the latter with no sign of them becoming available in the near future:(

You would think the Guy's at adventure spec would be a bit more on the ball and know about a good selling bike :augie

the Adventure spec bars fit both F650 and F800 as the F800 has more plarsteek so on the F650 they appear to be more sticking out.

Same Frame :nenau

enter the F700 more wider Plastic than F650 but most likely less than the F800, what I'm saying is maybe they fit already, someone must know for sure or poss a local to you ukgser with them fitted and a tape measure could have the answer advspec do not yet know :blast :D

I like crash bars it's cheap insurance :beerjug:

Hi Dean, thanks for your comment. The problem is that the BMW crash bars (feeble) for the 700 have a different fitting kit and part number to those for the 650 twin which means the fixings aren't the same. My husband has the 800 GS with Adv. Spec. bars and where they're attached wouldn't line up with mine. No joy at Touratech yet either:(

:D Part number 048-0300

The american TT list it, what you will find is as it is a new model most computers will say no as not listed............ yet

but as nearly all parts fit F800-F650 in time that will include the F700 , but of course you need confirmation from the vendors :thumb2

I have Givi they work I have tested them 3 or 4 times (well 3 and 4 was part of 3 realy) been patched up and powdere coated.

But I like the look of adv spec best but it's just an opinion,

Good luck in your search :beerjug:
