On the order on my new GS Exclusive i picked "Original optional outlet for phone charge".

I looked at the bike yesterday at the dealers... Cant find any USB outlet anywhere!
Just the standard 12V one in right hand fairing...

Has somebody else ordered this and are capable to tell me where it is?

Dealer has no idea, it costs 122,5£ so it should be visible...

Isn't it a USB outlet in a fairing cubby hole available on the RT

Get your dealer, with whom you spent over GBP 100 (plus the not insignificant cost of the new bike) to find out where / what it is. It’s their job, even in Norway.

I know, but they also scratch their head...
Nowhere logic place to be found, and not a word about it in the owners manual!

I asked at my dealership today and they had not heard of it, the only USB adapter BMW sell is one you plug into the aux socket on the dashboard?

The official location for an additional 12v socket is in the left hand side panel just below the seat, perhaps they fit a usb there?

They sold it to you, you bought it. Tell them to find it. They are, we assume, a BMW dealership, whose job it is to know. A penny to a pound says that if you ask for a full refund, they’ll find out what it is or get it fitted.

PS Are you sure you’ve not been suckered in, with some sort of ‘This will interface with your phone’ option, that relies on BlueTooth?

In short, what is it that they BMW sold you and - more importantly - what is it that you thought you were buying for more than £100?

Nope... NOK 1255,-
:confused::eek::blast

I checked realoem and there is no mentioning of a dedicated USB outlet.

If you go to a store and ask for a phone charger, you will either get an adapter that connects to 230V or an adapter that connects to 12V in a vehicle.

It is my humble guess that mentioned option is a regular DIN outlet.

The outlet used to be standard on the analog dashboard, perhaps they made it optional on models with TFT display?

The "old" 12V outlet is where it should be...
The other one is coded 6NS

Is there any chance that there is a variant of the TFT panel which has a USB socket built in to it, maybe in the edge or back of the panel? Perhaps BMW would do this in recognition of the fact that the display requires a connected phone to support its full functionality?

On BMW cars, 6NS appears to be an Enhanced USB and Bluetooth option, that enables such wonders as being able to stream additional apps via Bluetooth, use two phones and other wonders. There are lots of videos on how bods have recoded their car infotainment / iDrive gizmo’s to the higher specification and saving themselves much gold in the process.

If this is the same on bikes - and this really is a guess - you are probably looking for something that is electronic rather than physical.

Would double check as my new bike last year arrived minus 2 factory fit options that had been paid for, came off the production line without them and got through the BMW factory inspection and the BMW UK PDI centre without being picked up

Got an hint from a guy at another dealer.
He claims that the 2018 was planned with an optional USB outlet, but something went wrong... It never happened.
There are no USB outlet on the bike! That explains why we cant find it!

I expect you'll be asking for some money back.
