Hi Firebird - what size is the bag? The phot gives me a better idea of perspective than 31litres".

thanks

I've got a couple of the 65l gelerts, not leaked a drop, and neither should they with a lifetime guarentee

I'll second that - I used mine when I did my trip through Ireland in Feb in torrential rain at times and it didn't leak a bit... Great piece of kit at a superb price

Hein Gericke

Heine Gerrrrwreck do something v similar for under a tenner - it is a bit flimsey. They were doing tougher waterproof roll type bags for about the same and Aldi were a bit cheaper still.

They also do or did one exactly the same with a full length roll top @ about 70ltrs for £35 ish, made from a tough ripstop material, I have one good kit.

Ortlieb bag size medium (31 litre). All I need for riding around Europe

The Hein Gericke roll-bags are very good bits of kit.....they also do a large selection of other stuff, such as bergen/rucksack liners and pannier liners in a multitude of sizes.

Hell of a lot cheaper than ortlieb, and still robustly made. Not as heavy-weight as the ortlieb stuff.....but i prefer that,im used to having to carry my camping stuff about in a bergen, where heavy-weight doesnt tend to best.

Hein Gericke are also doing a lot of useful carrying equipment add-ons,such as a bag for fitting to your headbutt pad on the handlebars ( £8 )...a bum-bag with a built in toolbox section, and a tank-bag system with over-the-side panniers to drape either side of your fuel tank ( £65 ).....with a few well placed straps,i reckon they would fit my 1150 GSA.

You put them on a gsa they'd be wider than the bars! protect the tank though probably cheaper than tt tank protectors and arrive quicker!.

It's the 40l bag which is around 610mm x 320mm x 340mm high. Ortlieb call it the Rack Pack and I think it is product No. K63H2.
