Has anyone got an end can other than a Remus, Ideally i'd like a kite marked can with removable baffle, Remus are fine but wondered what else folk had and whether they liked 'em

I`ve got a Scorpion can with the removable Db killer on my 12GS, sounds nice without the killer, not too loud, & standard with it fitted.
So far ok :thumb

Quill T3 -

Stainless steel, kite marked - and very nice sound -

just waiting for my remus to fall apart before fitting it

other than REMUS

Carbon can, stamped road legal, with removable baffles.Sounds bloody great with baffles, not tried with out. Oh, the best bit, stainless connector pipe+ can-£120 at the Gmex last January!!!

Saw and heard a nice oval pipe being sold by Metal Mule at Beaulieu. can be fitted to the standard Cat or to their 'y' piece.

Not as loud as the Remus, but still a nice sound from the standard one.
Priced at £200 for a SS with alternatives of Carbon, satin titanium or flame titanium, whatever that might be. and they say they are legal and conform to EEC regs, not sure about any Kite marks though.

Not sure of Remus or other prices and whether this is comparable?

I've got the Metal Mule one fitted to my 1150 Adv. As said, it is quieter than Remus, but you can remove the baffle very easily and then it's louder :D . I've got a remus as well... guess I ought to sell it at some point:confused:

Staintune

Andy (Legger) has just bought a Staintune Stainless Can and Collector Box....
Superb quality and exquisitely made by those Aussies, comes with road certification and is far better than a Remus set up in terms of quality

May be wrong but I think that Scorpion manufacture the exhausts for Metal Mule.....!;)

Yes, you're right. The cans have Scorpion embossed onto them, and come with Metal Mule stickers to put on the sides. I bought it as I have fitted the Metal Mule panniers and using this exhaust allows you to have symetrical panniers with no cut outs for the pipe, meaning a full 45ltrs of capacity on both sides.

When I get my act together I'll put some pics up of the panniers + pipe on the bike so that every one can comment on my un-creosoted fence and un-weeded lawn

Cheers guys, Steptoe, the Quill looks good, will check them out, remember that aussie giants 650 having a staintune exhaust and it sounded LOUD

Yes, apparently they do/did. I was in at the local dyno/race prep place the other day, the guy there says Akro brought out a can, found it made the engines run 'dangerously lean' and being perfectionists, withdrew it. They are apparently waiting for Power Commander to get their product out (next month or so) of which one will be fitted c/w can and y piece before i save up for blueprinting, porting.....must have a chat with Jim Bryan about what needs to be done.

I have the Scorpion titanium the same as Big Lee has. Apparently if you remove the baffle and take out the flat 2p piece sized blanking plate on the end, then refit them they look road-legal yet flow a lot more gas and sound no different.;)

I dare say that as the R1200GS is such a top seller now, many more can manufacturers will be entering their products onto the market in GS fitment.

I've got a Sebring Twister and Y-piece on my 1150GS.

Makes a lovely noise!!! Although had to put the baffle back to calm it down (a tiny bit).... ;)

exaust cans

the staintune mufflers are well made, and you can get a low mount from them , and use a full size bag on the left sideof a gs,
a friend did this and it worked beautifly.
