I just got a Boxit thingy for fitting my new Nokia N97 to the bars of my pogo with Viewranger OS maps on it.
It looks a reasonable wee bit of kit, but I was a bit dissapointed that the glare from the protective screen makes it quite dificult to see the maps, even in dull sunshine.
Anyone been able to compare one in real life with an Otterbox?
Does the Otterbox have this kind of glare as well? I don't mind paying a few extra quid for the Otterbox if it's a better piece of kit.
Althogh the Boxit is a very snug fit for the N97, it does look fairly well made.

It's the same if not worse as the screen isn't flat. I sold mine on because of it.

Is your screen flexible? Bump the device up with a bit of form?

I sent the Boxit back and got an Otterbox instead.
Glare looks much the same but because the screen on the Otterbox isn't slightly curved like the Boxit is, it makes the touch screen viable whereas it wasn't really with the Boxit.
Looks like a much more substanial peice of kit as well.
Trying it out tomorrow for the first time.

is there some kind of adhesive non reflective film you could apply? you can get it for iPhone etc.

search ebay for anti glare film

Or thinking along the same lines, try some polarised sunglasses?
You can get fairly clear polarised lenses so it shouldn't cause much problem in dim conditions
