:tears Two weeks into owning and loving my 1990 K75S, a SMIDSY pulled across in front of me without indicating.

Very little time/distance to react, braked and bike went down on right side.
a bit of scraping of the engine cover, broken screen, cracked fairing and demolished indicators.

She admitted liability and insurance assessor has been to see it.

Now, the important bit.......Where do I start to look for parts?

I have just been to a BMW dealers to source a few bits for my K1, they can get all sorts of odd fairing panels and bits and pieces. As yours is an insurance job then go to BMW, you might be surprised.

MotoBins
Motoworks
James Sherlocks

All have stock for the K75s

You can find the websites for yourself :D:thumb

If you go that route do not be surprised if it is written off ;)

I'm ok apart from two sore knees and a bruised hip.
The insurance assessor reckoned it's a category C.
They'll issue a cheque and let me keep the bike.
I didn't think they did that anymore.
Anyway, I need to give him a cost for parts and I'll need to source them to fix it up.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll contact those listed.

P.S. I forgot the handlebars are bent as well. I'm hoping I'll get the C bars instead.

If you are going to give the insurer a cost breakdown of the repair, it's probably in your interests to list new BMW parts, meaning that you will get a bigger cheque.

Use the parts fiche to list the parts and get the prices from your local BMW dealership.

There's a whole K75S fairing on ebay at the moment, it's being sold piece by piece so could be a source for the panels.
