Out for a bimble today

Spent a few hours this morning connecting the twin disc set up on one of the monos and replaced the stock brake cylinder with a 16mm version from the store cupboard. After one of the easiest bleeding sessions I've ever experienced it was time to pop out and see if it worked.

The Gambia bike already has a twin disc set up using a 15mm brake cylinder but as it will be a lot heavier with the HPN tank I thought it wise to check out the 16mm cylinder.

Performance was brilliant, with no problems with the suspension even when it came to testing it in a controlled emergency stop which produced my first g/s stoppie!

I'd guessed the 2nd and 3rd photo's were pre-ride due to the brown coating on the discs.

If you do take more photo's, is there anyway to stop Proff from seeing them so he doesn't get too jealous

The exhaust shield is a simple fit as the Sito comes with a mounting point which requires a new hole drilled in the heat shield and a hole drilled through the shield and the lower mounting bracket of the exhaust.

The side panel is not easily fitted though, might be possible with some fiddling but I'm not looking to fit it to the bike.

The R80 g/s came with a single caliper mounted on the rear of the forkleg with mounting points for a twin disc set up on the other side.

Both the bikes fortunately cam with twin disc set ups but currently trying to work out what's required for those interested in doing the conversion.

Not sure of the situation with the 100 but I'm sure someone will be along shortly who is.

Well I didn't know the 80g/s already has the twin disc fork legs That takes all the expense out of the conversion then.

The 100GS can have twin disc's, but it means buying a specially manufactured left lower leg with the mounting points added to the casting. IIRC they are approximately £185.00 Not sure who from either 'though I have seen them somewhere in my searchings'. You will then have to find a disc and caliper. You'd be wise to buy two new disc's and new pads to keep things even.

It's more viable to go for the 320mm single disc conversion instead, which should be quite a bit cheaper too.
