After a couple of false starts I've just traded my 90th Anniversary R1200RT for the newer LC version.
I contacted several dealers from my search on the Motorrad web site and asked for trade in figures etc on each of their respective bikes. These bikes ranged from early 2014 registrations to Apr 2015. With one exception, each dealer came back with their offer. The odd one out basically refused to commit to anything until they physically saw my bike. This didn't seem to be an issue for the others?
The deal I chose was so attractive that I rode down from Dunfermline to Guildford on Monday to complete the deal. Everybody happy!
First of all, the new bike which is a year old and has all the stuff on it with 2000 miles is not as comfortable as my previous bike. The seat is firmer. The gearbox is also clunkier.
However, the rest is brilliant. I'll have to watch my speed on this thing!
I'll be trying it out on some familiar roads at the weekend but so far I'm really chuffed.
Once I get myself organised I'll be posting my BMW tank bag and Cee Bailleys screen for sale.
I'm hoping that I don't have to buy yet another after market screen but I am reconciled to getting another tank bag. The Givi looks favourite at the moment?

Regarding tank bags, I originally bought the BMW one for my 2015 RT. No a smart move on my part, can't get much in in. I was pleasently surprised to find the SW Motech GS tankbag from my KTM SA went straight on, same tank ring too. Lots of room and the steering lock is clear. Bit on the big side but a great bag. I agree that the new model RT feels like a big step forward in terms of performance. Just done the South of France and back and never been more comfortable on a bike either.
