Sandra and I are heading off to the outer Isles around Easter and I'm trying to find campsites without much luck. I've found a couple on Harris and Lewis but nothing on the Uists or Barra. Any ideas? I know wild camping is an option but don't really want to wild camp for more than one night at a time, I like a nice hot shower too much :) Any ideas much appreciated.

from memory i think most folks wildcamp - you can camp at some of the Gatliff hostels tho, and the Uist Outdoor Centre has bunkhouse facilities too.
On Lewis there;s a great campsite on the west coast at Cnip near Reef. Its a community run campsite and not on the tourist info (charge a fortune to advertise) website.

Have to agree the beach at Cnip (neep) is fantastic. You can visit the Little Bernaray black house or they also go to St Kilda from Miavaig on a Rib (not so great if there is a chop or wind). Either way Fantastic place to go and stay, dead jealous, please if you find good places to stay post a ride report. I NEED to explore and spend more time in Harris etc but love Lewis, Orkney, and Skye.

There is a campsite on Benbecula next to the school at Liniclate

If you want to camp wild, there are public showers next to the tourist information in Lochboisdale.
