Overland and Adventure bike Show at the Ace Cafe

Here Nutty ... If you came to kent first, I could give you a pillion ride there on Cato....

There's no way I'm going on the back of your bike. My heart can't take it!:P

Sounds like a plan,if you don't mind me gate crashing your little party ?

Might usual riding buddy (Jumpjim) is still laid up with 5 busted ribs and collarbone so I is William no mates

It's actually a bunch of tossa's that don't really like/get on with one another...tis just being polite...;)

That's the main reason why I'm not going. And I don't want to mingle with this bunch of benders in public.:P

Tossers....not benders....:D

I'll be on the Stahlkoffer stand trying to flog a couple of tours so pop round and buy me a coffee........:thumb

If they're making a decent cappu, then yes I will :thumb2

Absolutely fella, be good to meet you :thumb

Ooh....new friends....sounds like e-harmony!!!:eek::eek::eek:

:DWell, I arrived just after 9am and the car park was already nearly full, I squeezed into one of the last spaces.

Some nice, dare I say proper :hide bikes as well as the fully blinged up ones - also both types of riders, those happy just to talk and those who have to be heard talking & ticking boxes "I'm going down through A, via B to C & then D - you really must go to D".

Just walking around looking at the various bikes gave me a few hints, tips and ideas to make trips easier.

Chris/Bilco finally arrived as I was about to leave, so he didn't get his cuppa - the queue was out the door from about 9:30

when I finally left it was rammed and bikes were parked over the road on the grasss, as I rode back out on the A40 I saw loads coming in.

Whatever your attitude to the Ace/Overland day, I'd say it was a massive success -I haven't seen that many people there this early in the year for a long time

Austin was there in his trademark boiler suit as well as a host of other writers (Sam Manicom, Graham Field etc). Spent a good few minutes talking with Chris Scot - his book was the inspiration and reason for me going off to Morocco all those years ago (I made a point of saying so and thanking him - altho I think my old copy's WELL out of date now :D ) - before being asked to be quiet as the BMF were doing an interview on camera (well sod off somewhere quiet then, it's the car park where all the stands and people are FFS :blast). Nice down to earth guy.

Didn't see Nick Sanders there :green gri

This was my favourite penny mod top box

It was good to meet you all and put some faces to names. Just for Keith who felt my previous avatar didn't resemble me at all - here's another that doesn't.

Ah.....so that's you!!!

Same sentiment too....great to meet a few forum members, and a good day on the bikes (with the exception of the north circular which is pure shite!! :green gri)

Yes it was fun.

It's a shame Nutjob couldn't make it !!

Poor Cato is just no match for that 950 ..... :D

I enjoyed that thrap back across country, it's been a while since I've ridden like that. :green gri Your 1190 goes like a stabbed rat. I had to give my poor old 950 a bit of a cuddle when I got back!!

Ha ha .... your 950 goes pretty well ..... :thumb2
