I’ve had various Oxford heated grips for years , mostly the Advanced.
I see they now do the Evo and Pro with the latter having built in controls rather than a separate controller

I’m sure I read somewhere that the Pros don’t get as hot as the Evos.

Anybody tried both ? Ta.

Looks pretty neat .
In the tradition of UKGSer and the internet in general. I suggest different ones from Daytona (Japanese not German boot maker)

They have the reputation of making the best ones for decades, with their original ones being analogue and favoured by dispatch riders in the 1990s.

Think they might be a bit short at 120mm.

Will measure OE grips tomorrow.

they are hollow ended to accommodate bar ends

you also need a small gap between the bar end and grip to allow for expansion, otherwise the throttle can stick! This used to happen on my R1150GS with BMW heated grips until I learnt to slacken off the bar end periodically as it seemed to tighten itself.

just looked, the Oxford Evo are also 120mm, trimmable to 110mm

I have the latest Oxford Adventure on the Adventure Cub.

They fit well, neat wiring and look great :thumby:

They reach good temperature :thumby:

But try switching them on when its freezing cold, sleet blowing horizontally as you ride over Rannock Moor towards Glen Coe, with frozen hands, in wet soggy gloves, with cold wrinkly pinkies :blast

You can't! Your thumb can't even feel the micro switch on the left hand grip, it disappears into wrinkly skin and wet soggy leather. If you can feel the switch you certainly can't press it in :blast

I've contacted Oxford (twice) and they're looking in to it, but they say their testers don't have a problem!

Well they probably don't go riding in weather like that .... probably saying to themselves "Its not much point going out in this, no sensible motorcyclist would do so anyway" :D

The Oxfords are different lengths depending on model

Adventure 132mm
Sports 123 mm
Touring 120.

But all trim able

I had the pro grips on my GSXS 1000. I would highly reccomend them, pretty much OEM look due to the inbuilt controls and were very warm indeed. Worth the extra money if you don't want the control panel thingy.

Looking at the Oxford for the Harley. £300 quid plus for Harley ones and that's before fitting.

I’ve ordered the Ultimate Addon jobbies . Found them on Amazon for £108 delivered with VAT off and the grips on my bike are exactly 120mm width .
A guy on Facebook has them and they work fine so don’t understand the fly by wire ‘issue’.

Ta for all suggestions

Fitted the Ultimate Add-on grips yesterday

Very pleased with them .
They’re £60 cheaper than the Oxford Hotgrips Pro and are very well made with a solid on/off switch and five settings illuminated by different coloured lights .
Level 3 is enough on a 5 degree day and level 5 is hot.
Good quality wiring loom and connectors too.
I’ve used Oxford Advanced and Evo for years . Not tried the Pros but will use these UAs in future .

I’ve just bought similar grips for the pricely sum of £90. I had a chat about the new model with the suppliers and the guy I spoke suggested I stick with the ones you’ve bought. He said they’d stocked the Daytona ones in the past and the failure rate was too high. Hence the recommendation to hold off on buying Oxford’s new offering to see if they had the same issue.

Micky makes a good point. Operating the new ones with cold fat fingers ill not be easy.

The button on the UAs is much bigger than that on the Oxfords
