Oxford heated grips

Searched font but can't find info. Half way through fitting oxford hgrips on 1150 gs, l/h bar easy but throttle tube is bigger than oxford grip tube and it's ribbed with projections near the switchgear end. Before I start butchering the throttle tube or just boot the fecker on the floor ( one of them days) any tips ? The tube is black with horizontal ribs by the way. Ta

No checked prior to install, fitted these to most of my bikes but not a b*w todate anyway

No way the oxford is going on the throttle tube that I can see

the last set of Oxford grips I fitted (not to a beemer it wir a Honda) had a sleeve for the RH grip you could reduce the size if need be, when we opened the box it was already fitted to the grip making it too small for the throttle tube, so we just popped it out.

only mention this as it wasn't the easiest thing to see ?

Yeh the tube is for quads where they have a thumb throttle and 2 x 22mm grips. I am wondering if this bike has a different throttle grip to standard, not seen a black one before.

I had to file down all the ribs on my DRZ throttle tube.

Just took it in stages until I got a nice fit.

The oxfords won't go over the tube at all and thats before it gets to the ribs

Hi Den,
I fitted oxford sports grips to my 1150 they will go on
lots of filing with the dremel the left one goes on the sleeve that bolts to the switch gear if I remember
the throttle does take some filing down also needs a couple of washers in between the hand guards and the end of the bars to save you trimming the bars and having a scruffy end.

I slightly modded the bracket as well as you don't have standard bolts as most bikes do

there you go photographic evidence there was some F&Bs flying around the garage though good luck

Thats all i needed to know, Dremmel it is then. The left bar was a matter of removing the tube and the grip goes on the steel bar end snug, not glued it on yet till i sort the other side out also will need access to the switchgear screws going forward so may see if i can avoid glue.
Lot of filing down on the throttle tube i think as there is no give in the oxford grip and tube is nearly 1mm bigger not including the ribs

They do keep my mits warm-thanks Dazzle.
I have to use thinner winter gloves as the throttle lead has some movement which makes the use of the right indicator slightly obscured whilst using the old thumb to indicate.
