Last year I won some gift vouchers, and so with extra tokens in my grubby mitt I head off to motorcycle emporium to look at shiney shiney.

I bought an oxford heated waistcoat, all the extra blubber isn't helping, not being a hard northern. I'm now awaiting my third control unit.

So far OXFORD, you've taken 3 and one half weeks to do sfa. My granny could do better and she's been dead for thirty years.

There's little point in selling kit if you don't have the spares back up or dont give a f*ck about your customers.

From this some may take it I'm more than a little pee'd off.

Rant over.

Actually it's the retailer you should be talking to. At this stage I'd ask them for my money back and go elsewhere. It doesn't matter how you payed. They can't hide behind vouchers or sales. They have the problem with Oxford not you. JJH

Yeah, you have a receipt, it's not fit for purpose, they've had an opportunity to make it right.
Your contract is with the retailer not with Oxford, get a refund and try a different brand.

To be fair to Oxford , my heated Gillet with 5different heat settings is a truly superb bit of kit.
I'd encourage everyone to buy one !

Bike dealer is trying really hard; Oxford can't/won't supply one.

If Oxford were trying to be helpful, they could either remove one from an existing waistcoat in stock or replace the whole lot.

It is a shame because when it worked it was toasty.

The dealer may well be trying very hard but you are entitled to a refund. If you wish, buy the identical product but Oxford and their unwillingness to help is his problem to deal with.
Thrust me, the rep that calls to him will be handed the vest back...... and he will take it.

In my younger days I was a rep(tile) calling to all the motor factors and most places you called to had a present or two for you. You took them back without hesitation. Your next order depended on it. What could be wrong with a spark plug? Who cares here's an order for 5,000 more. JJH

You will probably find its a defective batch of units, so they really haven't got one to issue.Still, get your money back they are probably all rubbish.

Rep(tile)? I'll try not to take offence!

I know in the UK, warranty is treated a bit more stringently, and suppliers fight a little harder when it comes to taking back stock.
In Ireland, as a supplier into nearly any industry.......if you don't take the return...... you don't get your order and more importantly they will more than likely drop you as a supplier.
But none of this is relevant to the OP, his contract is with the dealer he bought the product from, the rest is the dealers problem.

Update;

After a conversation with the Oxford HQ, who acknowledged that there are no controller's available and have no idea when they will come into stock, have replaced my complete waistcoat.

I am aware that the responsibility/contract is with the dealer not manufacturer, but there's not a lot they can do if the part isn't in stock.

Now when I am trundling up and down M9 I'm nice and toasty again, if only XL was the correct size for me too.

Bought a 'waterproof' jacket of theirs recently.

Got soaked three days running - not impressed.

Also bought some trousers and the friggin trouser leg zip fell apart first day I put them on.

Oxford "bone dry" what a crock of shit. Been dryer when swimming.
