I need to give me little old MT-10 a run to stop Wessie and his boyfriends moaning about the chicken strips despite it barely being out of the showroom and only pootling about on a poxy little island with a 35 mph speed limit.

Anyway,I'm planning on riding down in September to meet a few mates for a couple of days in the Picos-dates don't overlap any more than that.

I was then going to go ride some of the Ride routes in Portugal but am now thinking I'd rather zap along the Pyrenees and over to Castellane, one of my fav places. That will then either give me the option of riding up the Route Napoleon again or possibly joining near the bottom of the RDGA and riding that S-N,something I haven't done as I've always done it heading south.

So I want to get from my mate's house in Asturias to Castellane in about 3/4 days and have had a look at a route, basing it on riding the N260 which I have never done but I hear is a belter.

I don't want to spend days exploring the Pyrenees-I've done them a bit a while ago and will be back another time.So I've come up with this but whilst wanting to make progress, can anybody come up with any obvious roads that I should be including ?

Ta

PS

I'll also need to arrange to have a new rear fitted in Nice or somewhere too as it'll only do about 2000 miles before being eaten

Alright dude

I've just planned a similar route from Santander to the Costa Brava, pretty much identical to yours, don't think you can go much wrong on the N260. I've been there many times in a coche.

My only differences are that I will be going from Santander via Pamplona and dropping down to pick up the N240 from Yesa.

Depending on how it's going I intend to do a loop into Andorra and France from La Seu.

Cheers

N260 is a belter, from Fiscal (east of Jaca) through to Sort where you turn up towards France (missing Andorra..yuck..).

Heading to Castellane, maybe via Aups, and up the D957 towards Lac le Croix, but turn up the south side of the gorge and travel along the D71, D90, towards Castellane. Then the D955 along the side of the lake (becomes the N202) is cracking.

you could if you have not done so already, download the big master file from wapping, link is somewhere on this site, and create a route using routes from that, i can confirm that there are some very good ones.

Did Bilbao via Pamplona, stayed at The Monasterio de Leyre (fantastic, cheap rooms, don't have to chat to the monks, good food, cheap wine and rather tasty homemade caviar!) across to Llavorsi via N260 and Sort(should have chosen hotel here rather that LLavorsi)
Head north on C13 through Vielha and onto Narbonne.

Roads in Spain were great for riding, will be going again later this year I hope
