Hi. I have a 1955 Tiger Cub that I'm trying to clean up for my stepdaughter's friend.

Would anyone have any ideas for cleaning up the chrome and paintwork, which is covered in rust spots, as I've tried to show in the attached photos.

So far I have tried WD40 with 0000-grade wire wool, Coca-Cola with silver foil and a smooth polishing mop.

The owner wants to keep the patina, so the obvious respray/re-chrome is out of the question.

Thanks

You could try using aluminium powder, white vinegar and salt. Mix in abit of flour to produce a paste the apply with a buffer pad. Works better than tin foil and coke.
