Hello boys and girls.
I want to repaint areas such as the swing arm, timing cover and cylinder head.
I've got two questions. First is there a colour code so I have the right colour mixed and is there a particular brand that is tough enough to resist stone chipping
Ta :)

Well there certainly won't be one colour code to cover all those parts...

Having said that, I understand that Hammerite smooth silver is a pretty close match for swing arm and timing cover.

I've just had my swing arm, reaction arm and FD case dip stripped and powder coated in silver. I also had the steering headstock done to match as the bike was already in pieces. One of the swing arm bearings was on its way out so it would have had to come off sooner or later.

If you prefer paint, still have it stripped then etch prime and paint. Any corrosion under the original paint is very hard to deal with unless its stopped way back from the rotten edge and then filled, primed, blah, blah.

I tidied up the gearbox case with Sperex 5 wheel silver and petrol proof lacquer over the top. Its a close match to the gearbox and engine paint.

For the rocker covers you can get a set of carbon fibre crash protectors for less than Touratech charge for their folded aluminium covers. The carbon covers will hide any marked paint and provide better protection.
