That colour reminds me of the "Midnight Blue" & silver 1st year CBR600 I had in the 80s. It looked almost black when the sun was in but it was very much a sparkly metallic blue in the full sunshine.

I have a paint related question.
Can the matt paint that seems to be popular with manufacturers have gloss lacquer applied directly over it ? As an example, the Tracer GT in the for sale section with its matt blue.

Believe it or not, that's standard Yamaha Chappy red.![]()
The short answer is yes ...... the mechanics of doing so are a little more complicated on a substrate that's been out in the world / cleaned / silicone sprayed etc.
But it's entirely possible to turn a matt bike gloss ...
The Other PaulG in particular will enjoy this one!
It looks a really stand out colour
Would it be quicker ,easier and get a better finish to just respray the tank all together ?
