I may be in the market for a 2008 GS with 50+000 miles. Problem is, it’s cosmetically challenged, with rust/paint flaking from the centre stand, the gear and brake levers, and some bubbling on the swingarm itself. I‘m happy to deal with the stand and levers, but should I be wary of dealing with the swingarm? if I send it to powder coat, the heat means I’ll have to refit bearings, seals etc. what about painting? Can I get a decent paint match and finish? Do I need to dismantle the whole assembly to do so, or do it in situ? Apart from this, I would plan to replace rusty bolts as I go.

cerakote...? if you mask it all off, use the air dry finish after abrasion is could be a solution..?
