Paint required for scratched cylinder head

Just in case you didn't know............

RS paints are waterbased, thus easily applied, but do need a 2k clearcoat on top of them to protect them from the elements and fuel. When trying to "brush" clearcoat onto a cured waterbased paint, it may well smudge or disturb what was originally quite a good finish, ie it really needs to be sprayed on. Personally I wouldn't use them for touch-ups, just complete parts such as mudguards, panels, etc. Then just 2k clearcoat the whole lot. Much better job.

Don't lose too much sleep about head scratches, they're not a horrendous cost. I believe £150-£200 max and a DIY fit. Put a sticker on it, if it worries you. Anyone who offroads, or drops their bike a lot will fit new heads at selling time and the bike will look fab.
