Hi guys

Thinking of getting my S1 painted to match a new paint job I'm having done on my Blackbird. It's nothing special, just getting it in Candy red like my old Bird was, as Honda stopped making red ones in about 02.

The painter will paint it at the same time as the panels, but wants me to remove the vents and inner visor control knob etc.

Anybody know how these things come off?

Or where I can get them removed, or buy replacement ones? If it's an agent it needs to be one that is known to be helpfull. A couple I've already spoken to couldn't have been less interested in helping!!

On Shoei, Arai 3m double sided tape is used , so use a scaple blade or heat gun to soften / slice between lid and vent. Not sure on a Schuberth , sorry not painted one. Use 3m when painted to replace.
Ask the dude painting your stuff if he is using a uv inhibitor in the clear coat, candys die in sunshine after a few months.
Have asked others and one one has painted a Schu

You should also remove the eps foam (polystyrene) pads from inside the helmet before painting as the solvents used in painting may attack/damage them.
