Now I know we GSers should be tough hardy people who like the bikes to look hard and used. I am like the first group but alas I like my bike to look fab and new and the panniers drive me up the wall.
I have read all the threads on keeping the aluminium panniers in tip top condition. But in the end i have two choices. Vinyl or paint.
I have the vinvyl now and I do not have the confidence to fit it. (it is amaxing stuff by the way, if any one wants to give me an offer - colour coded to my Anthratice GSA) So I went to a paint specialist to see if I needed a second mortage to have then powder coated.
They can coat them easly but want to take all the rivets out to make a perfect job.
These are stainless steel rivets with special mushroom ends meaning nothing sticks out in the inside of the box.
So here is the questions - Where can I buy the stainless steel rivets (BMW will not sell them to me).

Help please

The repair kits for the BM 1200 panniers plastic corners use mush head allen bolts and nylock nuts. Though you don't have quite as smooth an interior, they don't stick out very much, and are 1000% easier to replace.

Coat them in vinyl. It's not that hard just take your time and use plenty of soapy soloution. Trust me, I did mine and the first bit is the most off-putting, but it gets easier and easier as you go on and learn how to use the vinyl. If I can do it, then anyone can :thumb

If you want button head scews, give me a shout.I've got 4 and 5mm with dome screws to match.
