Hi was wanting to tidy up the rocker covers. Was wondering what was the best silver colour match and what paint to use.Or is it poss to powder coat them.Any suggestions?:beerjug:

Yes...you can powder coat them.

If you want to paint them,Silver Smoothrite is near as dammit an exact match for the silver.

If you go the Hammerite route, remember that it's an enamel and it tends to be a bit thicker than normal aerosol can paints.

Thin coats is the best way to get a decent finish, also once you've done the can shaking bit, a couple of tricks that help the paint flow and adhere are:

Pop the can into a bowl of hot water for a while, it helps the paint flow.

If you have a hot-air gun, warm the surface to be painted and use the same to cure the paint between coats, it will allow you to get more, thin coats on that bit sooner. If you don't have a hot-air gun, borrow your missus hair dryer.

I've used this method for years with good results.

What do you think is the closest colour to the silver/grey of the hubs please?

Plastikote

I had mine blasted clean, a spray can of acid etch primer ,halfords, and then primed again and painted with Plastikote craft paint sprays,

Make sure you get the high temperature resistant one though, £25 the lot for both sides, its all in the preparation so take care when sanding etc and use many thin coats
