I'm just about to start stripping my 6 month old triple black GS and intend to paint the,

Luggage rack
Under seat ( rear) cover
Screen support / windscreen mount
Gear and brake pedal
Maybe even the tank covers,

All in black as one or two other tossers have done.
What I'm looking for is some feedback on whether I should use gloss, satin , or even the BMW black the bike is painted in.
Even if you think it's a bad idea let me know what you think:thumb2

I would vinyl wrap the bigger easier to wrap shapes.
That way if you don't like it it's easier to change color or revert
back to stock color, easy to do yourself, less hassle and probably cheaper.

stuff like the gear and brake pedal I would powder coat since
they will wear.. but by the time you have blasted and painted
there might not be much difference in price to get some aftermarket
ones in the desired colour.

Looks great not sure if it would be better mat though .

I would never use matt it look horrible and more grey than black. Personally I would use satin especially on the screen mounts. I would do the back satin as well but Gloss looks good too if you can match it to the other gloss properly. Plastic wrap is horrible as well. Its fine for buses, taxis and stickers but yuck on anything else. A quick scotchbright some etch primer if you really want to and then 3 coats of paint. What's hard about that?
