Expecting delivery of my new R1200GSA LC in March sometime.
Due to the TE being kitted with BMW pannier frame, am I stuck with o/e panniers or are there alternatives that fit what I'm getting? Don't see the point of junking the o/e framework that comes with the TE and I do like the asymmetrical look of o/e panniers, especially the way that the right side wraps above the exhaust. Are the o/e sets worth the layout? I'm not gonna be off roading, but will be touring/camping.

I have a l/c GSA and am looking at getting panniers. The BMW ones are very expensive €1800 for the 3 boxes here in Ireland. I would take a guess that they are the best option considering all aspects. There are of course many others to consider some just as expensive. When you also add in the cost of fitting kits and whatever oe might be the best option. I'm looking at alpos from Motorworks. Some people say they are not as strong but at 20% of the price I'm very tempted. JJH

I bought a full set of givi trekker outback from amr ricambi in Italy for about £900 including frames that's a 58l top box and plate, And a 48 and 37 panniers. . For a little extra they supply the inner bags also.
Or fc-moto.de has an extra 10% off at present.

You want to get a quote from your dealer, if he is supplying a new bike he ought to give you a deal on a full luggage.

Check out Bumot Defenders. According to their website they fit the OEM racks for the LC GS. They also come in a variety of colours.

Thanks to all for your replies and advice. Some good suggestions.
Leaning toward o/e and dealer has given me a fair offer.
Not many weeks before I get the bike now so need to make my mind up, thanks all.
