Pannier dilemma

That's true, 83000miles on a 07 is a Lot of runs to asda.

Why cart extra crap along my air cushion works well sat on top ;)
all becomes clear - you people are talking about camping.... I was bewildered as every hotel, B&B and cafe I've visited on my bike tours have provided chairs. Camping... The smell of sweat, wet nylon and desperation.:eek

Get yourself a set of alloys and keep the various in the garage. You can always sell the alloys at a later date and not lose too much money.

My experience is:

The GSA panniers are excellent put with frames will cost and arm and a leg unless you are lucky enough to pick up a second hand said.
Touratech are good but overpriced.
Jesse luggage is tough but heavy.
Verns Worldbeaters are brilliant but not quickly detachable.
Stahlkoffers are sensibly priced, well made and lots of options.
ARD cases as above.

I'd go for the Stahlkoffers or ARD cases if I couldn't get GSA panniers and frames at a sensible price.

Yeah cliffy had them at the overland show the other week and will probably have them at copdock as well.

Really impressed with the bumot on my toilet :)

Sent using random stabs with bratwurst like fingers...

The cans look well made but the brackets not so much, the givi rails look good but the trekker outbacks look a bit flimsy, but I havent seen a set in the flesh though.

I was fortunate that my bike came with a full set of Metal Mule panniers.
First up yes very expensive. I have the MM exhaust (which sounds great) giving me balanced panniers. I think it is best part of 2k for all 3 plus rails and the exhaust.

That said they are very well make. Totally waterproof and have a very simple mounting locking mechanism. Off in seconds and on and locked in seconds too.
Ya pays ya money...

Oh and they look great outside tesco :D

Having tried both the advantages of top loading sell aluminium boxes for me. It's just better having gravity on your side! I still use my vario topbox because I the variable bit is good. I bought some stahlkoffers and frames second hand off here.
