I've seen that a few people on here have the Dirtbagz pannier frames.

Just wondering if anyone found a European seller or you imported from USA?

I'll be using throw-over bags so only need something to keep off the exhaust. The more desecrate the better.

Unfortunately I don't have the tools or a workshop to make my own :-(

Yep, I've got one and bought it from their website.
I use soft saddle bags along.
Those:

But except from their capacity which are quite good I had to refurbish them due to stitching seams damaged.
I guess I would probably buy next wolfman saddle or Magadan Panniers to go along with the Dirtbagz frame.

Anytime I order from the US I ask them to write 'as a gift' to avoid taxes and I don't recall this time as well having payed taxes.

Don't bother with them, buy the Hepco & Becker frames & wolf man bags

Their frames are much better configured

I agree with this, I had the dirtbagz and the frames are too weak and bend easily, I am now in the process off ordering the HB frames with Wolfman bags.

I've also got the H&B pannier racks, wolfman panniers and use a large TT rear rack (as it has a flat base as opposed the H&B one).

Attached to the TT flat base I also use a Cymarc carrier (originally for a GS) to prevent items dangling off the rack and onto the exhaust.

I didn't want frames on my Husky so went with 'frameless' throw-overs. Similar money to a set of frames and more flexible so maybe worth looking at?

Linky to a thread on it HERE

I also went for the 'frameless' throw-overs same as Outtomunch. I fitted an exhaust protector to keep the bag off the exhaust.

One issue I've had with these bags is the metal studs that fix the webbing are scratching the plastics and X-Tank. I'm going to try to cover the metal studs with something to prevent this.

That looks the dog's bollocks that does :)

I don't see how that tiny exhaust protector keeps the whole bag away from the exhaust. I've got the OEM exhaust and I'd be worried about the bag burning.

On my dakar I had a bag burn (on the top rack) that wasn't even touching the exhaust, that's how hot it got. I imagine the xCountry to be similar.

I don't really want H&B frames, they're not discrete enough. I'm really only interested in keeping the bags of the exhaust to stop them burning. I'll be using throw-overs so don't need anything to attach them too.

FWIW I've got twin pipes on the Husky and the bags clear them fine by angling the bags further forward than on the X Challenge in the pictures, there's lots of adjustment to mount them higher/lower/angled differently. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get them to work?

Ah yes I should have said I'm not using the OEM exhaust. I changed it because of the heat. With the akrapovic exhaust and exhaust protector the bag doesn't get warm.

The setup on your xChallenge looks good, but as you say you've got a different exhaust.

They won't work for me the way Outtomuch has set his as I carry the occasional pillion, especially on long trips.

Ive got tbe dirtbagz and frames for my crf250l. Really happy with them and cost me about 150 usd. Happy days

At the moment I have these which aren't really appropriate for this type of bike, due to their width. Put them up for sale elsewhere.

Has anyone got any good close ups of the exhaust side of these frames?

All the decent pictures seem to focus on the right side of the bike. I want to see in more detail how the frames pass the exhaust and attach to the frame/passenger footpegs.

Cheers.

As an update to this, I bought the Dirtbagz frames only. They cost £160 including postage, customs charges and Parcelforece's £8 clearance fee.

I decided against the H&B frames as are too obtrusive for my tastes. The DBZ ones are supposedly weaker, but then I'm not tearing through rough terrain on an xChallenge. Hopefully they will hold up ok.

Next up are some panniers.

Then you can have it reinforced at some points. Espacially where the bars attach to the frame.
I agree with you the H&B are too obtrusive for the look of the bike. I don't like the left side.
