I'd be interested to hear UKGSER user reviews of the BMW OE Pannier Liners?

I've ordered a set of panniers with a new GS12 and managed to get the dealer to knock 10% off price and throw in a set of liners for free....

Thought that wasn't too bad a deal... but interested to hear your opinions on the liners "usefulness"

   :beerjug:

I'll be getting a set of OEM panniers before too long and will get a set of liners due to the fact that the panniers are side opening, hence all your stuff falls on the floor when you open them without a liner. Obvioulsly a bin bag is a alternative - although not as flashy and will not fill the pannier completely like the OEM liner.

I've got an old rucksack that I currently use as the 'liner' for the topbox.

I guess getting them for noubt is a good investment then :D I get the "practicality" without the BMW silly pricing !!!

cheers for reply GSMonkey :beerjug:

Black bin liners or, if you feel like splashing out, rucksack liners make excellent pannier liners as well.

1200 Pannier Liners

I've used the BMW cases/liners for about 10000 miles now, and can find no substantial fault with them.

However, the liner bags are quite robust & rigid and can be a quite difficult to insert when stuffed to capacity.

A viable alternative, at around half the OE price, are the ManeEvent ones at the bottom of this page:

They are well made, expandable and lined but are more 'squashable' and therefore easier to cram into the panniers/topcase when full.

Thanks for the info. I was going to buy the BMW bags at £180 for 3, but these at £99.50 for a full set is a hell of a saving, now where's my Touratech catalogue what can I get for £80

Thanks for this. I have been looking for an alternative to the BMW ones.

I use M&S reusable food carriers, which are made of a woven plastic type fabric. Cost £1.50 each, fit the panniers perfectly and last indefinitely.
