Ordered a set of Cruiser Backrest Bestem bags and a 52 Ltr Givi topbox bag for my 1200GS 10 days ago for 150 USD billed my card for £75.00.

Turned up today, look bloody great 11 out of 10 for service and quality.

Will report on there durability after the Wife and I get back from Spain & France.

Bob

Oh forgot to say they marked them as a gift value 40 USD so may get away with it

Lol Blackal! - nice thread by the way - I was thinking of investing in some case liners and will look forward to reading any feedback?

Oh shit I take it all back.
They are not quite as good as i thought.

The givi liner is great
The left hand side is great
the right hand side is shit its the same size as the left hand side so is shite.

Several calls to Bestem this evening and they have no answer.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Wankers.

Looks like a call to Mane event.

Bollocks bollocks bollocks

Just a thought.................we spend a whole heap of money buying these BMW bikes and then try and skimp a couple of quid over soome of the extras?? Buy the right tool for the job - many years of experience has tought me that the BMW 'bits' just fit right and usually have extra thoughtfull little details as well...............I figure on the long run it works out cheaper anyway as you the BMW 'bits' are more appealing when we sell them on.

In many instances I would agree. But something as simple as inner bags isn't exactly 'precision engineering' so why do BWM take the p1ss with the price of their's (probably a logo on it somewhere). :nenau

I have used Mane Event bags regularly (commuting) for almost 2 years and they remain excellent quality and value for money.

But, you pays yer money, you takes yer choice ... etc.

they cost a little more than comparable construction ortlieb bags, but they are slightly more complicated with zips + you get a nice set of straps, which not only hold the (waterproof) neatly on top of the bmw boxes, but are dead handy for strapping sleeping bags & mats to the panniers.

i have used them a few times now, strapped on. again, very handy.

when i bung them in the non groundsheeted bit of my tent, i don't worry that everything inside will be damp in the morning.

they're not cheap, but i've very rarely found cheap to + quality. as you say, "you pays yer money etc."

another bonus, they don't look like they should have BOAC written down the side of them :D

i hate to sound like some sort of salesman/apologist for bmw, judge is bound to give me stick for it  so to redress the balance:

bmw heated waistcoats are a pile of unreliable shit that they should have sorted out years ago & their bikes can display similar traits :P
