Just aquired set of bmw system panniers, and have been told that the locks have to be changed or ajusted (?) to fit my ignition key. Anybody know how to do this? Please.

That is a good set of instructions, but be aware that the difference between the right and wrong "wafer" in each slot can be fairly small and you can get it wrong first time you try it (read this as "and trotsky managed to bog it up the first time he did it").

An assortment of wafers and springs are available from your friendly neighbourhood BWM emporium.

see here for another thread on this.

Thanks

I'd just like to say thanks for that link, I've been putting off doing my locks because it seemed that getting the parts maybe trouble some & losing a spring would be an issue. Didn't know there was a parts kit.

I'll be on the phone to my dealer to order one.

I did mine earlier this week.
I found that if you put the new key into the lock (with the lock out), you can see which tumblers (wafers) are correct and can stay in place.
I managed to re key my locks with the parts I had.
I was short of 2 No 1 wafers and had 2 No 3s spare.
This meant that the locks only have 5 working wafers in each.
(I hope that makes some sense).

Mike.

Thanks everyone hopefully the information suplied should do the trick. Cheers
