Story goes like this. Took TT pannier rails off my 1100 before it went away to new owner. No problems.

Took same TT pannier rails and went to fit to my "new-to-me" 1150 GSA. Fitted lhs first. No problems.

Then lined up on the rhs and the "bracket/leg" that would have attached to the footrest is down or lower than the footrest by about 1/2". Problem.

Phoned the determined people at TT in S.Wales and ask if there is a different set of pannier rails for the 1150 GSA. They inform me "Yes!" and give me the part number 051-0010.

Look at TT website just now and 051-0010 is pannier rails that seem to fit from 850 through to 1150 GSA.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it a completely different pannier rail altogether - but TT don't seem to list a seperate one for 1150GSA.
Is it time to get out the big hammer or take it to my local metal fabricator and see if he can turn it up slightly?
Suggestions and advice welcome - thank you!

Charles,

Have you done the one side-up tight?

If so, just get all the bolts a few turns in the thread. Then go around and do them all up a little at a time.

Loosen the forward footrest bolts before you line-up the support bracket to the rear bolt.

if none of them work try brute strenth and and the oirish watchmakers solution:toungincheek
a big feck off ammer:D

Thank you Mike, "John" for your comments. Hammer not needed, except of course to my mush like brain. And thanks for the lack of ridicule from the other 140 odd folks who looked & didn't comment.:comfort
Must have been a bit of a :blast moment or two, because of course you don't tighten things up until you have everything in position:blast:blast:blast
Sorted now!
I'll close this thread and hope it disappears into history without any other reference.
