I have a set of frames in silver on order. :thumb2

Aleksandra has been keeping me up to date with the order status.

I'll gladly post some photos when they arrive.

My silver pannier frames arrived today from Holan.

Nicely painted & well packaged.

I was informed they were sent out on Monday 1st, so that's 7 working days to the UK from Poland.

I've just returned from the garage after fitting them & although they came with no fitting instructions it's not rocket science. Bit of a tight fit between the lower/rear link rail where it touches the number plate bracket - when I tighten everything up it raises the black no. plate bracket a few millimetres. But it's nothing I can't fix in work tonight.

Just to recap:

£165 - Look great - fit reasonably well but will fit perfect once I drag 2 holes.

I'd use Holan again. :thumb2

Just waiting for redcap to clear my cheque then it's all systems 'go' with fitting his ARD panniers.

Spaced back & to the rear......

But still touches & raises the number plate bracket.
I'll keep the holes the same size but drag the link rail holes up a few millimetres, lowering the rail.

Nice finish.

i mean your frames against the bmw frames for the bmw aluminium cases as in the picture above

The frames for BMW cases in the picture above are not BMW product. they are HOLAN's one. we use the same fabric mounting points on the bike's frame for all these pannier racks so they can look similar.

interesting

to see how wide they will be... spacing is so far away from the silencer you cold fit the panniers on the inside. ;)

ok thanks for info, maybe im not making it clear what i would like to know :nenau ?

The holan rack for the 1200gs that has the gsa panniers fitted.... is this rack wider than the original bmw OEM rack?

i ask because it seems to be VERY wide on the Left hand side.

With the Holan rack and the BMW GSA aluminium side panniers fitted, what is the total width?

i can write in Polski if thats maybe easier?

thanks Rob

This may not help too much but my 1200GS with the non GSA frames fitted are 22 inches wide.

Bars approx 36 inches wide.

My panniers will be 2 inches wider than the bars both sides.

really nice boxes but for me the frames are unfortunatly far too wide and its something that would bug me everytime i look at it.

ill keep looking at alternatives...

I feel I need to jump to Holan's defence here & point out a few things to counter some of the negative feedback left here.

All the photos I posted had my Remus silencer fitted which is narrower than the std silencer & will give the effect of a unnecessarily wide gap between the pannier & the bike.

When opting to use flat sided panniers you are restricted by the silencer & can't really get them too close anyway.

I recently watched Long Way Down and really didn't see any difference between their set-up & mine.

I'd just like to end by saying I'm perfectly happy with my Holan frames and have been from day 1
Thanks guys.

Maybe these photos with the std silencer fitted will give some perspective & help any potential buyers.

How much closer do you want them without the mountings hitting the silencer?
