BMW Motorrad has announced a significant new offer on two of its most iconic and best-selling motorcycles. Customers purchasing a new R 1200 GS or R 1200 GS Adventure from 01 April until 30 September 2009 will receive a complimentary set of BMW Panniers, valued at 459 for the R 1200 GS and 603 for the Adventure. Both prices are recommended retail and inclusive of VAT.

BMW Panniers are the ultimate accessory for the 1200 GS and Adventure models. Not only are they designed to carry luggage and essential supplies when venturing out on a two-wheeled trip of a lifetime, but can also be used everyday for a laptop or brief case.

Customers purchasing a new R 1200 GS from any BMW Motorrad dealership will qualify for a free set of Vario Panniers, capable of carrying a total load of 10kg per pannier and providing a value added benefit of 459.77. These panniers have a unique adjusting mechanism that enables their overall volume to be adapted to suit the environment in which the bike is being ridden. They can be reduced from a combined capacity of 68 litres to 50 litres simply by flipping a bar in each case. This effectively reduces the width of the motorcycle by 120mm, which can prove extremely useful in congested zones when filtering through traffic.

And the new R 1200 GS Adventure is now available with a complimentary set of handmade Aluminium Panniers, providing customers with a value added benefit of 603.15. The rugged aluminium panniers, which are able to carry 20kg and offer a combined capacity of a substantial 82 litres, are often preferred for enduro adventure riding. They can easily be hooked onto the carriers and can be locked using a key coded to the bike.

Tony Jakeman, Marketing Manager for BMW Motorrad UK said: With the 1200 GS range being the ultimate motorcycles for exploration and adventure, what better accessory to have than a complimentary set of panniers to go with the bikes? With the added value of this fantastic offer combined with our affordable finance packages from BMW Select the ever popular R 1200 GS and Adventure are even better value for money.

BMW Motorrad has also assembled a number of accessory packages to complement its R 1200 GS models. The new Luggage Packs represent even greater value for customers, offering a saving of 100 on retail prices. The Luggage Pack for both the R 1200 GS and GS Adventure includes L/H and R/H inner bags, Top box and mounting kit, locks, a Top box inner bag and tank bag.

great I baught my gsa in January I wonder will they give me a discount on a set now? JJH

In my area only Lind of Norwich has any mention of this deal on their website (Balderstones/Cannons don't), and only mentions the Gs1200, but gives very little details.

If this is true, and it runs until September, then that might just be the final nudge for me to trade in my 06 GSA for a new one :thumb2

They might I just paid 810 for mine T Lind BMW including the locks and coding them to my key. lots cheaper than Touratech. in the pannier there is a sticker made by Touratech. top kit dead easy to fit.:thumb:D

Hadn't thought of that :blast

....think it's genuine though!

It's mentioned as a GS Pack offer here...either Tour or Sports...basically £500 of accessories on a GS:thumb2

I was in Lind the other day talking to Martin the manager about the new GS he never mentioned it when I said I was going to my a full set which if you include the pannier rails and top box carrier this lot is well over a grand. so if ole matey is not pulling our plonker you might get a great deal if you trade yours in for a new'un . I got great service from Lind rode the new GS with the ESA on and then rode mine a57 only 2.5th mls on it on the same route on the old Yarmouth Norwich road which is inmy opinion the most bumpy road around this area, on doing this back to back test I thought my bike handled the bumps more smoothly tried all the various settings so try brfore you buy Goodluck:thumb2:beerjug:

've just bought a pair of vario panniers for my 1200 GS from the supplying dealer (Rainbow, Rotherham) and they gave me a discount as I bought the bike new from them in Nov 2008. I paid just over4 £401 and that includes the coding of my ignition key so that one key fits all.
