Have standard black system panniers and was wondering the best way to load these, on other bikes the panniers are the same size on either side, but these are not, so do I weigh the kit going in and make sure they are the same then pack in to each side, or do I balance the panniers? KNowing that they are a different weight empty, don't want to unbalance the bike, even though it feels quite good empty, any advise would be handy

I just chuck whatever in mine and don't worry about balancing. Doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference to the handling. If it does my brain must be adapting (although I'm not sure my brain works that fast).

I'd agree with Larry. The theory is to balance the weight both sides, and pack the heavier items at the bottom and towards the front, but in reality you end up checking the stuff in any old how and the bike doesn't feel any different.

Thought that would be the general idea, with an engine going side to side I don't suppose I'd notice much difference anyway, unlike good old Jap bikes that try to shake themselves stupid if loaded wrong

It don't matter how I pack my panniers, they seem to balance fine :D :D :D

It's odd isn't it....I've had both fully overladen, then emptied one and couoldn't be arsed to balance them up, but didn't notice any diffrence either

Weight low, non-heat sensitive stuff in the left, job done :thumb

Lorraine gets the one on the left.....I get the one on the right.

I have loads of space.

She has to take skimpy stuff and cropped tops......:D ;) ;)

Pannier loading

Hi,
not worth worrying about, you,d have to put some pretty heavy gear in the right pannier to compensate for the end can!!!
