Hi Folks
I got the new LC and was looking at pannier options
1/ The old GSA panniers has anybody tried fitting these to the new model?
2/ Looking at the Holan Nomada panniers and Globe scout, liking the cut out for the exhaust to allow reduced width issues.

Has anybody got any feed back on the options.

Cheers:rob

Hi Rob, You might just find that having the exhaust on the wrong side causes a few issues, however, I have just seen these liners on ebay which might be good when you have got a bit further down the line, they are a steal compared to the genuine GS part, which if I remember correctly cost me about £250.00

Hi Batman

My old v new question was refering to the Alu panniers of the GSA type not the vario type, i know they will not fit the new LC model. I thought it may have been possible to swap around the old Adventure type with an altered frame. Thanks anyway.

If you don't mind the panniers coming off the wrong way I think the pannier frames could just swop sides, however the exhaust pannier would will need a new cut out as the cutouts are tapered but nothing a good ally fabricator/welder could not deal with, and a lot cheaper than a new set of panniers.

When I got my WC I already had adventure panniers on my twin cam and looked long and hard at making them fit the new bike.

I managed to adapt the rear rack to the new bike allowing me to keep the top box and it looks good.

The panniers are a different matter I did find someone who was prepared to have a go but was unable to give me an accurate price.

The major stumbling block are the nibs that the panniers slot onto on the frame the problem being that without an awful lot of work they will be the wrong way round i.e as you brake the weight of the pannier will push away from the nib rather than push against it.

Initially it looks as though any fabricator worth their salt should be able to make a good job of it but when you delve deeper it's more complex than it initially looks.

In the end I went for TT zega pro's and have been very pleased with them.

Well I know my take on this would be use the varios for now then upgrade to the new LC Adventure in March. If that is out if range financially I would back grade to the Twincam Adventure.

I am a little biased as I am a delighted owner of a few weeks old Hexhead Triple Black. I have ridden the LC and thought it was great but the philosophy of "Good enough will do" can save an absolute fortune when applied.

Enjoy your bike.

Hi Steve
Thanks for the detailed input I will now discount this option from my dithering to spend some money.
